Your Power to Attract Whatever You Focus on

You have the power to attract anything you want in your life. All you have to do is focus your attention on the prospect of having it.

In her book, E-Squared, Pam Grout challenges us to test this simple principle.

I used my power to attract and spot 15 yellow/orange vehicles and 5 yellow butterflies.

Experiment #2: The Volkswagen Jetta Principle

The Volkswagen Jetta Principle is the second experiment in the book. The objective of the principle is as follows:
– During the next 24 hours, focus and spot as many sunset-beige cars as possible
– For the following 24 hours, focus and spot as many yellow butterflies as possible

At the end of the 48-hour interval, record your findings. The idea is to find uncommon objects that are yet possible to see. After all, if these are easy to notice, you’d not believe the Universe sent them to you.

As you will most likely observe, once you set your intention to find such cars and butterflies, your mind starts looking for them. But, the real master work of the Universe is when you find these at the most unexpected places or times. That’s what happened to me. YEY!

A Hint

A key point in this experiment is the focus part. You need to be open-minded and look at the obvious places and the most unusual ones as well. For example, a beige car can surely be spotted on a busy parking or the highway during rush hour. But, it could also be found on a magazine cover, a TV/YouTube commercial, your child’s toy box, and many more.

So, set your intention and let go of all expectations. Let the Universe surprise you. In fact, the more unusual the place is, the more certain you could be that you have the power to attract anything you want.

The Results

It was a long weekend when I decided to give the experiment a try. Day 1 was on Sunday, and my husband and I decided to visit the nearest Costco store and do some grocery shopping for the new week.

I wasn’t sure what exactly the colour “sunset beige” is so I changed the colour to bright yellow or bright orange. At that moment, I couldn’t recall seeing any such car recently. So, I decided that it was challenging enough for the Universe to deliver if it was a real thing, the Universe, that is.

After lunch, we headed towards the store (about 45 minutes away) and for the first half an hour, I did not see any such colour cars. But since I still had half of the day ahead of me, I didn’t write off the experiment.

Bright Yellow/Orange Cars

And, at last, I spotted a bright orange car. Rate to see but not impossible. From this point on, these bright sunny-colour vehicles appear to be everywhere, and all makes and models. Big and small, old and new. This also included an yellow school bus. For the first day alone, I counted exactly 15 yellow/orange vehicles.

Needless to say, the trend continued for more than a day. For the next few days, I saw all kinds of vehicles in these colour palettes. In other words, this was not something phenomenal. It’s just that I never noticed it before. Now, I wonder how many things are sitting right before my eyes while I remain oblivious.

The cars were something spectacular, but wait to learn about the yellow butterflies.

At Costco’s parking, we parked the car at the side of the store as it wasn’t that busy. We started walking toward the door and my eyes caught a glimpse of something big and bright on the grounds. Believe it or not (well, see the picture I took ;)), there was a big yellow butterfly on the parking’s pavement. What were the odds? You tell me!

On the following day, Day 2, we went to the beach with some friends. I was happy to see them again and completely forgot about the experiment.

As we were walking from the parking to the sandy area, we were passing by cute cottages. All of them were bright and unique in every possible way. That’s when I saw a little cottage with a short fence… with not one but two huge yellow butterflies attached to it as a decoration. I started laughing heartedly.

In the afternoon, when we came home, I needed some time to relax and unwind after the noisy beach experience. As I picked a relaxing YouTube video, I noticed in the video another yellow butterfly.

At this point, I decided to pull an Oracle card from the Ask Your Guides (by Sonia Choquette) deck. Yes, there was a yellow butterfly on it. And the card itself was Creativity, Creativity Guides.

I did not need any more evidence that I had the power to attract anything I wanted. And, as it turned out, the Universe has the best possible and most unusual way to deliver.

Now, it’s your turn. Follow the detailed instructions in the book, and share your results. Can’t wait to learn all about them.
