Raise Your Vibration in the Summer
How to raise your vibration for a joyful, happier summer.
Everything is energy, and everything vibrates at a certain frequency. No, this is not a science lecture. It’s just an introduction to an article about well-being.
Our emotions are also associated with different vibrational frequencies. For example, when you feel happy, your body vibrates at a higher frequency. Remember the last time when you felt happy? How did your body feel? Energized? Light? Vibrant? That’s because happiness indicates higher vibration.
How about when you felt angry? What was the sensation in your body? Heavy? Dense? Immobilized? That’s because anger indicates lower vibration.
When we vibrate at a higher frequency, our immune system improves significantly, our body can self-heal, we are more productive and creative, etc. This implies that the higher our vibration is, the better we live.
In this article, I present 5 fun ideas for raising and maintaining your high vibration during the summer season. These are just suggestions based on my experience. Use them as a starting point and create your own fun-to-do list 🙂
Raise Your Vibration in the Summer
1. Mediate Outside, in Nature
Science has long discovered meditation’s benefits, including improved mood, physical and mental health, and much more. When we meditate outside, the benefits amplify even more. Some of the reasons are that nature always has a high vibration. Thus, when we are outside, surrounded by trees, flowers, bushes or even a river, our bodies pick this vibration and start adjusting to match it. No wonder, we often feel better when we walk in a forest or in a park.
Some less-known benefits are the healing power of the forest’s air. In his book, The Hidden Life of Trees, Peter Wohlleben explains that when a tree is injured (by an insect or a bacteria, for example), it starts producing a healing ingredient (i.e., a chemical) that helps heal the wounded place. This chemical is often released in the air surrounding the tree as well. So, when a person walks around and breathes in deeply, they inhale some of these natural healing ingredients. This is proven to be beneficial for the human body. [1]
In other words, when we meditate in a park or a forest, surrounded by trees and greenery, we raise our vibration by picking up the calmness of nature and by boosting our immune system. And, since through mediation we quiet our mind, we allow the body to do its work uninterrupted.
2. Decorate Your Place with a Summer Theme
If you live in a Northern region with long, cold winters, you probably value the short summer. Just like I do.
One of my favourite ways to extend the joyous effect of the summer is to decorate my home with a summer-themed décor. For example, I love crocheting and I made many table runners and doilies with bright flowers. I even crocheted a bumble bee. My next project is to make a sunflower and a watermelon-like decorative pillows for the living room.
In addition, I have a few vases with fresh-cut flowers from my garden. To add to the experience, I use citric and berry-scented candles and even place summer-themed books and magazines.
On my work desk, I have sea shelves and a coconut shelf with a cocktail umbrella. Every time I raise my head from the keyboard or the screen, I look at my DIY beach miniature and smile.
It’s all about feeling happy, energized, and motivated. Surround yourself with colours, forms, textures and scents that speak summer to you. Summer is the season of games, bright colours, cold lemonades (or cocktails) and flowers. Enjoy every piece of it.
3. Read a Summer-Vibe Book
If you are a reader like me, you can definitely raise your vibration by picking a summer-vibe book. A great choice of genre is rom-com. These books make you smile and feel light-hearted.
My personal top choice is Jaimie Admans’s books, including The Little Vintage Carousel by the Sea, and her newest one, The Beekeeper at Elderflower Grove. Although the books are different, both made me laugh with tears, and both made me want to be outside as much as possible. Summer is so beautiful and alive, and these two books fully capture this. I don’t want to spoil the fun for you, but if you decide to read The Little Vintage Carousel, make sure you have access to ice cream 😉
I don’t always have the opportunity to travel during the summer. As such, books become my way to escape and visit new places. When the book is written well, I feel as if I’m on the seaside or the beach or in an enchanted old mention.
Give it a try. Read something light and funny and raise your vibration effortlessly.
4. Listen to Summer Jazz
Music is another great tool to feel better. Upbeat music can energize you. Slow rhythms can calm you down. Summer jazz can make you feel lively and vibrant. There are so many great jazz albums and YouTube channels. Pick one and listen for an hour or so. If jazz is not your style, experiment and find what music makes you think of hot days with cold drinks, clear night skies, waves, or sand between your toes.
When I work during the summer, I love listening to compilations with jazz rhythms and ocean waves. I’ve noticed that when I listen to jazz specifically, I am more productive and don’t feel the time. In other words, I have discovered that jazz raises my vibration. So, when the outside is sunny but I’m stuck inside, this music brings the outside summery atmosphere inside. Ultimately, I feel happier.
5. Surround Yourself with Summer Scenes
Close your eyes and picture the summer season. What do you see in your mind? White sands and turquoise water? Palms and ocean waves? Mountain streams with playful fish? Meadows with beautiful wildflowers? How would you feel if you could visit this place right now?
Well, if you can’t go anywhere right now, bring the scenery to your home or office with the power of the Internet. Put a beautiful wallpaper on your screen and take a few moments to simply observe and imagine you are there. It takes a few seconds to raise your vibration and a couple of minutes to make it last for a couple of hours.
Alternatively, you could pick one of the great many YouTube videos with summer tunes and ambience. Some of my favourite ones are Espresso Music’s Seaside Cafe Atmosphere. Sometimes, I even put the video on the TV in the living room. Every time I pass by, I imagine looking out of my window and seeing the beautiful ocean. As if I am actually there.
Whether you try all of these ideas or just one or come up with your own list, do it with the intention to raise your vibration in the summer.
Stay happy and share the joy with others.
